About us and editorial policy

PACientActiu is an initiative born from a patient’s experience. This page explains who writes the content, which sources we use and what the limits are.

Who we are

The PACientActiu team designs and develops the tools (PAC-SALUT, PAC-NUTRI and PAC-DIARI) and writes their content. The team is not made up of healthcare professionals: our responsibility is technical and informative, not medical.

Where the content comes from

Most of the text describes how the apps work. When a text makes a clinical statement (for example, how many days to keep a bladder diary), we give its source: guidelines from scientific societies, health bodies or reference publications.

Records and questionnaires are based on recognised instruments such as the bladder diary, the Bristol stool scale, the IIEF-5 or the FSFI. Where they have been adapted, we say so: they are not official diagnostic tools.

Use in practice

The PAC-SALUT reports were created and used during real follow-up, and were given to the professionals providing that care.

Clinical review

We are working with healthcare professionals to validate the reports, procedures and values recorded by the apps. Until this validation is complete, we say so on every page, and content that depends on it (such as the levels in cancer treatment follow-up) is marked as pending review.

We do not claim any clinical review that has not taken place.

Dates and updates

Every health page shows the date its content was last updated. We review the text when the apps or the reference sources change.

If you find an error

For an error in an app, write to [email protected]; for an error in the website content, to [email protected]. Healthcare professionals who would like to help with the review can write to [email protected]; associations and patients who would like to take part or suggest improvements, to [email protected].

Limits

This information is educational and does not replace diagnosis or professional judgement. If you have any significant symptom, contact your healthcare team.
